CandleSchool — Support

CandleSchool is an educational app for learning to read candlestick patterns. The app includes a pattern catalog, a multi-chapter curriculum, daily challenges, pattern drills with spaced-repetition flashcards, and trade-decision scenarios that let you practice making calls on hand-crafted charts.

Troubleshooting

Daily reminder notifications don't appear

If you enabled the “Chart of the Day” reminder in Profile → Settings but no notification fires:

  • Check notification permission. In production builds of CandleSchool, this lives at iOS Settings → CandleSchool → Notifications. Make sure “Allow Notifications” is on.
  • If you're testing the app inside Expo Go (a developer preview environment), notification permission belongs to Expo Go, not CandleSchool. Check iOS Settings → Expo Go → Notifications in that case.
  • Confirm the reminder is enabled and a time chip is selected in the app's Profile screen.
  • Reminders are scheduled for the next occurrence of the selected time. If you enabled it after the time has already passed today, it will fire tomorrow.

The app is acting strange or won't load

  1. Close the app fully (swipe up from the bottom of the screen, then swipe the CandleSchool window away).
  2. Reopen it.
  3. If the issue persists, restart your device.
  4. As a last resort, uninstalling and reinstalling will reset the app. This will erase your local progress (lessons completed, streak, pattern mastery, settings), which cannot be recovered.

I want to reset my progress

Tap Profile → Reset all progress at the bottom of the screen. This deletes lessons completed, streak, XP, daily history, and pattern mastery. It cannot be undone.

Restoring purchases

Version 1.0 of CandleSchool is fully free with no in-app purchases — there is nothing to restore. If a future version introduces optional paid features, a “Restore Purchases” option will be added at that time.
